| This paper presents a benchmarking analysis of the current quality of masonry cement against the new standard GB/T 3183—2025 Masonry Cement, which will officially take effect in May 2026. The core changes introduced by the new standard are reviewed, notably the upgrade of the original definition from "good water retention" to "good workability." Using product examples from two enterprises in Guangdong Province and comparative data from multiple parallel tests, the study quantifies the impact of the new standard on the strength and water retention test results of current products. It further clarifies that workability, rather than strength, is the key determinant of market acceptance of masonry cement. These findings provide a reference for cement enterprises to adjust production processes and optimize quality systems before the new standard is implemented. |
